Rhododendrons and azaleas grow best in light, well-drained soils with good aeration and an ample supply of moisture. Remove withered flower clusters to reduce the potential for disease and create a more attractive plant shape. Mulch your plants with your preferred FoxFarm soil conditioner to support beneficial soil conditions, help conserve water, and feed surface roots.
Treat your plant’s root system: Supplement with FoxFarm Big Bloom® Liquid Plant Food Concentrate.
Make a tea for deep root feeding: Add 1 cup Happy Frog® Acid Loving Plants Fertilizer per gallon of fresh water. Mix thoroughly and let stand for 24 hours. Strain solids out and apply tea at 1-2 cups per plant. For larger plants apply 2-4 cups of tea. Mulch solids around the root zone of established plants.
