WHAT IS FOXFARM ORIGINAL PLANTING MIX?
FoxFarm Original Planting Mix is a blend of soil amendments such as aged forest products, sphagnum peat moss and earthworm castings. Use our FoxFarm Original Planting Mix for all of your gardening projects.

BAT GUANO AND EARTHWORM CASTINGS
NATURE’S TREASURE
Bat guano has been used for centuries as a fertilizer for all kinds of plants. Add earthworm castings and you have a nutrient-rich mix that can help your plants thrive.
Retains Moisture
The aged forest products and peat moss in FoxFarm Original Planting Mix may make it more effective at holding moisture around the roots of plants. In turn, this may help you obtain glorious gardening results and save water at the same time.
HOW TO USE
GARDENS:
When preparing new garden areas, till a 3-6 inch (7.5 – 15.25 cm) layer of FoxFarm Original Planting Mix to a minimum depth of 8-12 inches (20.5 – 30.5 cm). Water thoroughly after planting. For best results, feed your plants with FoxFarm fertilizer products during growth and bloom seasons.
RAISED BEDS:
Prepare raised beds by amending existing soil with composted organic matter. Fill the top 8-12 inches (20.5-30.5 cm) of bed with FoxFarm Original Planting Mix.
ESTABLISHED GARDENS:
Top dress a 3-inch (7.5 cm) layer of FoxFarm Original Planting Mix around existing plants and carefully work into the soil.
TREES, SHRUBS AND ROSES:
Dig a hole 2-3 times the diameter of the plant’s root mass and 3-6 inches (7.5-15.25 cm) deeper. Place enough FoxFarm Original Planting Mix into the hole so that the root mass is positioned at the correct height. Secure plant in place while adding more FoxFarm Original Planting Mix around the root mass until the hole is almost full. Press firmly around perimeter of the plant and water thoroughly. Do not pack too tightly. Fill hole to the top and water again. Make your neighbors jealous by using FoxFarm fertilizers and liquid plant food concentrates in conjunction with our soil mixes.

DERIVED FROM: Earthworm castings, bat guano, dolomite lime and oyster shell.
